Shipping policy

At The Local Story, we carefully prepare and ship each gift box to ensure it arrives beautifully presented and on time. Below you’ll find all the details about our shipping process.
1. Order Processing
- All orders are prepared within 1–3 business days after payment and stock confirmation.
- Orders are processed Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Portugal.
- During peak periods (Christmas, Easter, corporate gifting seasons), processing times may be slightly longer. We will always inform you if this is the case.
2. Shipping Destinations
We currently ship to:
- Portugal
- European countries
- United Kingdom
If you are located outside these regions, please contact us at meet@thelocalstory.com and we will do our best to assist.
3. Delivery Times (Estimated)
Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the courier and destination:
- Portugal (Mainland): 1–3 business days
- Portugal (Islands): 2–5 business days
- European countries: 3–7 business days
- United Kingdom: 5–10 business days
All shipments can be delivered within 48 hours for an extra cost, when required.
Please note that delivery times do not include order processing time.
4. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on:
- Delivery destination
- Order size and weight
Any applicable customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees for international shipments (including the UK) are the responsibility of the payer.
5. Tracking Information
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details (when available), so you can follow your delivery.
6. Customs, Duties & Taxes (UK & Non-EU)
- Customs checks may cause delays beyond our control.
- The Local Story is not responsible for customs fees, import duties, or delays caused by customs authorities.
7. Delivery Issues
If your order:
- Arrives damaged
- Is delayed beyond the estimated delivery time
- Is lost in transit
Please contact us at meet@thelocalstory.com within 48 hours of delivery (or expected delivery date), including your order number and photos if applicable. We will work with the courier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
8. Incorrect Address
- Please ensure that your shipping address is complete and correct at checkout.
- The Local Story is not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete address information.
