Are your products authentically Portuguese?

We work directly with more than 50 suppliers across all regions of Portugal, with about 30 local producers actively engaged in our collections. Every producer must have a meaningful story, and we personally evaluate each product for taste, quality, and packaging. We visit producers, understand their craftsmanship methods, and only select items that represent Portuguese heritage and authentic flavours.

Can you create custom gift boxes?

Absolutely! Custom gift box creation is one of our specialties. Share your preferences, budget, dietary requirements, or theme ideas, and we'll curate a personalised selection from our network of Portuguese producers. This typically takes 4 to 7 days to be ready.

What products are typically found in your Portuguese gift boxes?

Our curated boxes feature authentic Portuguese artisanal products, including premium olive oils, handcrafted chocolates and sweets, local wines, specialty coffees and teas, artisan preserves and honey, plus natural home and lifestyle items. Each product comes from small and medium Portuguese producers we've personally selected for quality and authenticity.

What if I need my order faster?

While our standard delivery is 2-5 days for EU/UK, you can contact us at meet@thelocalstory.com if you have urgent timing needs. We'll do our best to accommodate special requests, though this may involve additional costs.

What makes your curation different from other gift box services?

We focus exclusively on small and medium Portuguese producers, ensuring each product has a meaningful story that matters to both the giver and receiver. Our founder personally tastes and evaluates every product, and we maintain relationships across all Portuguese regions to bring you truly unique items you won't find in regular stores.

How long does delivery take to EU countries and the UK?

Delivery typically takes 2 to 7 days to all EU countries and the UK, while Continental Portugal receives orders within 2-4 business days. This may increase during peak season, but we're continuously optimising our shipping processes as we expand across European markets.
